It’s hard to believe that 17 years have passed since Nirvanna the Band first started vying for a spot at the legendary Toronto performance space The Rivoli. And yet, here we are on the cusp of Nirvanna The Band The TV Show The Movie‘s theatrical release, and Matt and Jay have yet to make their dreams come true. Thankfully, with the help of a time-traveling RV and a little bit of luck, that’s all about to change. In Nirvanna The Band The TV Show The Movie, Matt (director and co-writer Matt Johnson) and Jay (co-writer Jay McCarrol) are hopping through time to secure their place on the Great White North’s grandest stage. But first, they’ll have to survive the journey 17 years into the past.
It’s really happening. The show that survived various media pivots and defunct streaming platforms has a major motion picture on the way, and we have a few first-look pictures prepare us for what will surely be one of the dumbest Back To The Future parodies in Canadian history (complimentary).
