JERSEY CITY, New Jersey (WABC) — Massive flames burned through the roof of an apartment building in Jersey City, injuring one firefighter.
It happened on Palisades Avenue, near Ferry Street.
The fire started just before 2 a.m. on the top floor of the four-story building.
Firefighters said there was heavy fire in floors 2, 3 and 4 throughout the walls and into the cockloft.
One firefighter was treated for a back injury.
The Red Cross provided 13 people from four families with emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food, clothing, and other immediate needs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
