LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women’s tennis will travel to Huntsville, Texas on Friday, Jan. 30 to face Sam Houston (0-2) for its first road match of the season. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
The Cowgirls (1-0) began their season on Wednesday with a dominating 6-0 home win against Alcorn. Sophomore Salome Fluri extended her winning streak to 20 matches, dating back to last season, which is believed to be the current longest winning streak in the NCAA.
Sam Houston (0-2) will be looking for its first win of the season following losses to Texas A&M (7-0) and Lamar (4-2).
COWGIRL NOTES
• Coming off a season opening 6-0 home win against Alcorn on Wednesday
• It’s the first road match this season
• Will play 11 of its first 13 matches on the road
• Salome Fluri enters the match having won her last 20 matches dating back to last season, currently the NCAA’s longest winning streak. Her last loss was on Feb. 2, 2025 at Central Arkansas. Her career record is 23-2.
• Following Monday’s Feb. 2 home match, the Cowgirl won’t play a home match until its March 7 conference match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
