A home in Bombay, New York is considered a total loss after a chimney fire spread to the rest of the structure on Wednesday.The Bombay Volunteer Fire Department said the fire broke out just after 8 a.m. at a home on Reagan Flatts Road.While the fire began in the chimney, it quickly spread to the rest of the home. The entire house was engulfed in fire and smoke by the time crews got to the scene.The house was completely destroyed, but no one was injured. All of the occupants were able to escape the fire.Volunteers from the Northeastern New York chapter of the American Red Cross aided the victims, identified only as four adults and one child.Firefighters and local first responders from nine other departments aided in the response.
