A six-vehicle crash in La Jolla left one man dead, multiple people injured and roads closed on Thursday night.

The crash occurred near La Jolla Parkway and Hidden Valley Road around 8:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police could not by Thursday night confirm how many were injured, only that multiple people were wounded, said SDPD Officer Anthony Carrazco.

Traffic detectives were still working to collect evidence and interview witnesses.

A Tesla equipped with a video camera was involved in the crash, which they hope will help them in the investigation, police said.

Traffic in the area will be impacted for an unknown duration of time. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
