PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One person is dead and another is badly injured after a crash late Thursday night in west Phoenix.
First responders were called to the reported crash around 11:30 p.m. near 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
When Phoenix Fire arrived, they found two vehicles, both with one occupant, involved in a serious crash. Firefighters had to free one person from a vehicle.
One man was hospitalized in “extremely critical condition,” according to Phoenix Fire. The other person was pronounced dead at the scene. That person has not yet been publicly identified.
Phoenix Police are still investigating what led to this crash. A segreant on scene said initial information suggests one of the drivers was driving the wrong way before the crash.
Lower Buckeye Road is restricted as the investigation continues, but the intersection at 75th Avenue remains open.
