Ongoing Projects

1. John McCain Road

Project: The work includes widening the drainage tunnel on Big Bear Creek west of Monticello Parkway, making improvements to the roadway curve along John McCain and Stillwater Circle and replacing the driveway, roadway, curbs, gutters and storm pipes on the bridge.

Update: Construction started on the project Jan. 5.

2. Forest Hill Drive, Palmetto Court and Paint Rock Court

Project: The project includes drainage improvements along Palmetto Court, Paint Rock Court and Forest Hill Drive in Trophy Club.

Update: Work began in early January, and the project is currently 10% complete, according to a town update. Recent work included installing a new storm drain lateral and pouring concrete collars around new pipe connections to support long-term durability.

3. North Carroll Avenue

Project: The work will focus on the Lake Wood Drive and SH 114 intersections, including hardscape improvements and traffic signal upgrades. Drivers can expect daytime lane closures from 9 a.m.-3 p.m Monday through Friday along North Carroll Avenue between Lake Wood Drive and SH 114.

Update: The project paused in November, and new intersection design options were brought to Southlake council, but no changes were made to the construction plan. The work resumed Jan. 5.

  • Funding source: city of Southlake, TxDOT

4. Bransford Road sidewalk construction

Project: The project includes building an 18,000-square-foot sidewalk to connect Colleyville City Park to Shelton Drive. Storm drainage improvements will occur.

Update: The project was delayed due to winter weather and has roughly 85% of the storm drain installed and 90% of the sidewalk installed, Assistant City Manager Adrienne Lothery said.

5. Montclair Drive sidewalk construction

Project: Sidewalks will be constructed in spots where there are no pedestrian sidewalks along the eastern side from Hall-Johnson Road to Glade Road. Drainage structures, grading and restoration of landscaping will also be completed.

Update: Montclair sidewalk is substantially complete, Lothery said. There are a few items that remain, including adding handrails in a couple of locations.
