With a mini heat wave forecast to peak Thursday, the Los Angeles County Health Department warned the public to avoid ocean waters at several beaches due to high bacteria levels.
The affected beaches are:
— Topanga Canyon Beach in Malibu, 100 yards up and down the coast from the lagoon;
— Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the creek;
— Walnut Creek at Paradise Cove, 100 yards up and down the coast from the creek;
— Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier;
— Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey, entire swim area;
— Castlerock Storm Drain at Topanga County Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain; and
— Santa Monica Pier, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
Meanwhile, a warning has been lifted for the following beach area where recent sample results identified water quality levels within state standards:
— The Bel Air Bay Club at Will Rogers State Beach.
