NJ Transit trains to and from New York Penn Station remain delayed Friday afternoon after three trains became disabled in or just outside the tunnels under the Hudson River.

NJ Transit said delays had dropped to 30 minutes as of 1:30 p.m., down from 45 minutes earlier in the day.

NJ Transit announced the delays on X (formerly Twitter) at 8:10 a.m.

According to NJ Transit, the delays began at about 7:30 a.m. after Amtrak train No. 51 was disabled for 38 minutes on the New Jersey side of the two rail tunnels.

Amtrak said earlier that its train No. 190 was stuck in the tunnel for about eight minutes during a temporary power loss. A third train, a non‑revenue NJ Transit train with no passengers, also later became disabled.

PATH is temporarily honoring NJ Transit tickets at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken, and 33rd Street station in New York.
