LA MESA, CA — Authorities sought the public’s help Friday in finding a missing woman from San Diego’s East County.
An Ebony Alert was in effect in San Diego County for an at-risk 24-year-old woman who was reported missing in La Mesa.
Tiffani Russ was last seen leaving her room shortly after midnight Thursday at the Heritage Inn at 7851 Fletcher Parkway, according to the La Mesa Police Department. She was reportedly headed to a nearby taco shop, but she never arrived. An acquaintance at the hotel reported her missing to police shortly thereafter.
“La Mesa Police investigators have been in contact with Ms. Russ’s family throughout the day and have been searching for her, so far without success,” the department said in a statement. “There is no apparent reason for Ms. Russ to have voluntarily gone missing, nor does she have a history of doing so.”
Russ is Black, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Authorities said she was last seen wearing a blue head scarf, a black Puma sweater, black pants and red sandals. Russ is believed to be traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Russ or has information about her whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The California Highway Patrol issued a countywide Ebony Alert on behalf of the department. Ebony Alerts are issued to help find missing Black children, teenagers and young adults ages 12 to 25 who have disappeared under unexplained or suspicious circumstances, or who are at risk, developmentally disabled, cognitively impaired or abducted.
