PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Crews rescued a hiker and mountain biker off Phoenix-area mountains back-to-back Saturday morning.
Just before 10:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to Westwing Mountain in Peoria for reports of a man who hurt his knee near the top of the trail.
The man was taken off the mountain using a big-wheel rescue device and released to a friend for a ride home, according to Peoria Fire-Medical Department.

Around 11:30 a.m., Phoenix and Chandler crews responded to the Desert Classic Trail on South Mountain after a mountain biker crashed and hurt his shoulder.
Firefighters used a big-wheel to bring the man down before he was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
