HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A woman was rushed to the hospital in west Houston on Saturday after her fiancé allegedly shot her twice while she was sleeping, police say.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call at about 3:30 a.m. about a shooting in the 12000 block of Brant Rock. When officers arrived, they found a woman with two gunshot wounds to her leg and ankle area, according to authorities.
HPD said the victim was taken to the hospital, adding that she is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the suspect in the shooting is engaged to the woman, adding that the suspect shot her twice while she was asleep in her bed. Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody after a brief investigation.
When asked about a potential motive for the shooting, officials said they do not have information on that. The names of the victim and the suspect were not immediately released.
