The Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire District said no one was hurt after an early morning fire at a home near Dallas Center on Saturday. A spokesperson for the department says crews responded to a home near 240th Street just after 7 a.m. on Saturday. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the eaves. Some firefighters entered the home to search and begin fire suppression tactics. A group with another engine went up on the roof to release the trapped smoke. The spokesperson says fire conditions were found in the attic and firefighters determined they originated near a woodstove. According to the spokesperson, no one was injured.
