Teofimo Lopez defends his WBO super lightweight title against Shakur Stevenson in the night’s much-anticipated main event.
Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) makes his third defense of the WBO super lightweight crown he won against Josh Taylor in June 2023. A two-division world champion, Lopez previously held boxing’s unified lightweight titles, which he won against future Hall of Famer Vasiliy Lomachenko. Lopez was last in action this past May when he impressively defeated Arnold Barboza Jr. by decision at the Times Square event in New York.

Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs), the current WBC lightweight champion, steps up to super lightweight in a bid to become a four-division world champion. Stevenson is Uncrowned’s No. 8 pound-for-pound boxer in the world. He scored one of the best wins of his career when he outpointed William Zepeda in an entertaining fight this past July in New York.

Ortiz is starting to hold his ground because he knows moving hasn’t worked for him. Davis walked Ortiz into an overhand right. Ortiz’s eye has taken some damage from Keyshawn’s right hand. Short rights from Ortiz on the inside, but he eats punches from Davis upstairs and downstairs in response.

Now, Ortiz clips Davis with a left hand. DAZN commentators have Davis well up, but Uncrowned believes this is a close fight. Three-punch combo from Davis, Ortiz fires back with a left.

Davis fires downstairs with two straight shots and then scores upstairs with a right. It’s a technical boxing match, but the crowd isn’t happy with it — it’s the second of three fights on the main card that they have booed. Davis smashes the body with a right hand. Some short shots on the inside partially connect for Ortiz. Left hand landed for Ortiz. Another left hand for Ortiz, and this one snapped the head back of Keyshawn Davis. Just when Davis looked like he was getting on top, Ortiz had some success of his own.

Davis lands a right hand to the body to open Round 5. Ortiz makes Davis miss with a right hand upstairs. Body and then head fires Davis with the right hand. Nice right-hand connects. Double left hook from Davis, head and then body. The left hook to the body was an impactful punch for Davis. Check hook scores for Davis. Carrington knocked out Castro in Round 9 to win the WBC featherweight title.
At the halfway point of the frame, Carrington connected with a huge overhand right, which rocked Castro. It was followed by a three-punch combination — right hand, left hook, right hand — and Castro fell heavily onto the canvas. Castro ultimately could not beat the count.
