Music and laughter are in the air this month as Chicago’s February concert and comedy calendar is jam-packed with great events to enjoy with fellow entertainment lovers. From a modern country icon to quite literally the funniest person in the world, here’s a look at some of the amazing artists performing in and around Chicago this month.
Sudan Archives – Thalia Hall – February 5
Sudan Archives is an artist in every sense of the word. Her concerts are a dazzling display of her many talents as a violinist, vocalist and performer. She’s bringing The BPM North American Tour to Thalia Hall on Feb. 5. This one is sold-out so keep an eye out for any last minute ticket releases.
Maria Bamford – The Den – February 26-28
Maria Bamford is a genius in the art of stand-up making her the funniest person in the world. No one does a better job expertly combining earnest stories, hilarious impressions (mostly of everyday people), and absurd scenarios better than Bamford. Don’t miss her run at The Den which is happening Feb. 26 through Feb. 28.
Margo Price – Metro – February 28

Rebellious Magazine favorite Margo Price is brining the Wild at Heart Tour to Metro on Feb. 28. Along with a traditional concert-going experience, there are also VIP tickets available which include a pre-show acoustic performance, a Q&A, and much more.
Nicole Byer – The Den – February 20 & 21
As a comedian, actress, author, podcaster, and the host of Nailed It!, Nicole Byer has shared her many talents with fans in just about every setting. On Feb. 20 & 21, you can witness what will surely be her next big success as Byer is taping a new comedy special at The Den Theatre. There are currently three shows available across the two nights so there are plenty of options to laugh it up with one of the greats.
Sherri Shepherd – The Vic – February 28
Chicago’s own Sherri Shepherd is known for expressing her opinions in ways that are frank and funny. She will be performing at The Vic Theatre on Feb. 28 as part of the Make It Make Sense Tour. Don’t miss it!

Elsewhere this month, Says She She are performing on Feb. 26 at Thalia Hall, which is also hosting a pair of Bertha: Grateful Drag shows on Feb. 6 & 7. Shemekia Copeland plays Evanston Space on Feb. 27 and Sarah Colonna will be bringing lots of laughs to City Winery on Feb. 20. The Riviera Theatre will be hosting An Evening with Cat Power on Feb. 27 and last, but certainly not least, Brandi Carlile is bringing The Human Tour to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Feb. 20.
It may be the shortest month of the year, but there is no shortage of amazing entertainment in Chicago this February.
