SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s golf team began the spring season by beating Long Beach State in a dual match Sunday morning. The Aztecs ousted LBSU by one stroke 293-294 and Ema Narita tied for first with a two-under-par 70.
Narita’s round was highlighted by a string of three straight birdies on holes 5-7 and an eagle on the 13th hole. On her second shot, Narita holed in from 137 yards out with a seven iron. She landed past the hole but had the backspin to bring it back.
Kylie Phi finished with an even par 72, good for fourth place. After four bogeys on the front nine, she rebounded and had three birdies in her final eight holes.
Stephanie Barbaglia took fifth with a two-over-par 74. She had 14 pars to go along with three bogeys and a birdie on the par five 16th hole.
Emilia Omander, who was playing in her first tournament of the 2025-26 season, tied for seventh with a five-over-par 77.
Freshman Manon Martin finished outside the scoring with a 79, and Emma Delwes carded an 81 playing as an individual.
Long Beach State’s Erin Lee tied Narita for first with a two-under-par 70.
