A 19-year-old college student from New Jersey was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, authorities said.

Siena Marie Brachelli was driving an SUV north near Academy Road when she lost control of the vehicle and veered off the highway to the left, striking a guardrail, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The SUV then overturned and landed on its roof.

Brachelli, of Chesterfield, was pronounced dead at the scene following the 11:36 a.m. crash near milepost 32.1.

Brachelli was a student at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, according to one of her social media pages.

She was a 2024 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, according to the school’s baseball team for which she worked as a team manager.

Prior to Notre Dame High School, Brachelli attended the Saint Raphael School in Hamilton, Mercer County, which mourned her loss in a social media post.

“The Saint Raphael School family is heartbroken by the loss of our beloved alumna, Siena Brachelli, Class of 2020. There are no words that can fully express the sorrow we feel as a community.”
