BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 20 RANKINGS
(Records are through Sunday, Feb. 1)
1. DAMIEN (26-4)
The Spartans take on Etiwanda on Tuesday at home in the Baseline League tournament championship game at 6:30 p.m. The Spartans are likely a CIF-SS Open Division team whether they win or lose. Another fantastic season for coach Mike LeDuc.

2. LA MIRADA (21-6)
Winners of 13 straight to close the season, including an 81-65 victory over Mayfield to clinch the Gateway League title. Like Damien, an Open Division invitation is expected, especially if 10-12 teams are taken, as most expect.

3. ST. FRANCIS (21-8)
The Golden Knights are in a tough spot after finishing sixth in the Mission League after bowing out to Loyola in the league tournament on Saturday. They could get an Open Division invite. If not, they need to hope their overall record gets them an at-large playoff berth in Division 1. One should happen, hard to imagine the Golden Knights are left out of the playoffs.

4. SAN GABRIEL ACADEMY (17-8)
The Eagles were ranked No. 19 in the CIF-SS computer rankings, which virtually guantees they will be in the Division 1 playoffs after winning the Division 3A title last season. No more easy roads for the Eagles. They should be ready considering their tough schedule.

5. ARCADIA (22-5)
A victory over Crescenta Valley on Wednesday will give the Apaches a share of the Pacific League title with Pasadena, which will be their first league title since 1970. The Apaches are No. 24 in the computer rankings, so a Division 1 playoff berth is likely.

6. PASADENA (18-8)
The Bulldogs just need to beat rival Muir on Wednesday to share the Pacific League title with Arcadia, or win outright if Arcadia loses to Crescenta Valley. The Bulldogs’ one-two punch of Timmy Anderson and Josh Irving is lethal.

7. BISHOP AMAT (23-4)
Bishop Amat is one game behind undefeated Bishop Montgomery in the Camino Real League standings and can finish in a tie for first with a win at home over Bishop Montgomery on Monday night. Bishop Montgomery won the first meeting, 51-47.
Previous: 7
8. LA HABRA (20-7)
The Highlanders lost to Crean Lutheran 76-67 and will likely finish second in the Crestview League. La Habra is ranked No. 27 in the CIF-SS computers, which makes them a likely Division 1 team too.

9. SAN MARINO (21-6)
The Titans were hoping to go undefeated in the Rio Hondo League, but stumbled against Blair, 60-55. Still, the Titans already have clinched their first league title since finishing in a three-way in the 2021-22 season. They finish up with Temple City on Wednesday.
Previous: 9
10. LOS ALTOS (19-6)
The Conquerors’ loss to Colony drops them into a three-way tie for first in the Hacienda League with Alta Loma and Colony with two to play. They can still clinch at least a share of the league title with wins over Alta Loma and South Hills this week.
