A juvenile charged in connection with a fatal 2025 shooting in Jersey City has been waived to criminal court and will be prosecuted as an adult, according to information released by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Naheim King, 18, of Jersey City, is charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Authorities said King was 17 years old at the time of the offense.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the area of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road.
Jersey City police officers responding to reports of gunfire located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.
The victim was later identified as Rahmiere Morris, 20, of Jersey City. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:35 p.m., officials said.
The matter remains under investigation. Additional details were not immediately available.
