Bronx, NY Rep. Ritchie Torres, Wells Fargo chairman and CEO Charlie Scharf, Douglaston Development and community partners gathered at 2850 Webster Ave. to celebrate Wells Fargo’s donation in the form of $100 grocery gift cards to every resident household, supporting both seniors and longtime neighborhood grocer Cherry Valley Marketplace.

The event highlighted the success of Phase I of 2850 Webster Ave., the 100% affordable senior housing development by Wells Fargo, Douglaston Development and the New York Botanical Garden, which is now home to 187 low-income senior households. Leaders from Wells Fargo, NYBG, Fordham-Bedford Community Services and local elected officials spoke on the project’s impact, followed by resident reflections and a VIP tour of the completed building and forthcoming Phase II.

Speakers included Bronx borough president Vanessa Gibson, Jeff Levine, founder and chairman of The Douglaston Companies, and senior leadership from Wells Fargo and NYBG.
