Manchester United star Amad Diallo made his feelings perfectly clear to an Ivory Coast teammate about signing for one club in the summer transfer window.

Amad Diallo has firmly established himself as a key Manchester United first-team player under Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old Ivorian attacker impressed in the 2024-25 campaign for the Red Devils, despite the second half of his season being disrupted by an injury.

Amad had suffered damage to his ankle ligaments back in February and the winger was initially feared to miss out on the remainder of last season for United.

However, the Ivory Coast international made a speedy recovery and the Red Devils ace even returned and featured in United’s 1-0 Europa League final defeat in May.

Amad inked a new deal with United back in January and the former Sunderland and Rangers player is now under contract with the Red Devils until 2030.

Amad Diallo first arrived at Manchester United under the reign of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Red Devils landed him from Serie A outfit Atalanta.

United paid an initial fee of £19m, including agreeing a further £18.2m in add-ons, to sign Amad and the Ivorian has had two loan spells since his time at the club.

Amad was loaned out to Scottish side Rangers in 2022 and the United winger netted three times in 13 matches during his underwhelming six-month loan spell.

However, the Ivory Coast international enjoyed a more successful season-long loan at Sunderland and Amad found the back of the net 14 times in 42 matches.

Simon Adingra signed for Sunderland this summer after leaving Brighton and the 23-year-old Ivory Coast winger revealed Amad’s true feelings about the Black Cats.

“I know him [Amad] very well from the national team,” he told Sunderland’s official website in an interview.

“I spoke to him, and he spoke very well about this club. He told me how big this club is.”

Amad Diallo’s remarks about Sunderland only prove that the Man Utd ace has continued to develop his elite mentality

Sunderland reportedly paid an initial fee of £18m, including a further £2.5m in add-ons, to land Ivory Coast star Simon Adingra from Premier League side Brighton.

Amad has kept an affinity with Sunderland since his successful loan spell and his time at the Stadium of Light was a key stepping stone in his football career.

The United winger had to fight tooth and nail to force his way into the United first team under Erik ten Hag and has proven his influence for Ruben Amorim now.

Amad’s remarks to Sunderland summer signing Adingra about the Black Cats only proved that his monster mentality did not play down the stature of the club.

Instead, the United winger bounced back from his disappointing loan spell with Rangers and used his time at Sunderland to set himself up for future success.
