PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One northwest Valley freeway is scheduled to be closed as crews continue a widening project this weekend.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the westbound lanes of the Loop 101 Agua Fria will shut down between I-17 and 51st Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Drivers who need to use the Loop 101 can take Union Hills Drive or the Beardsley frontage road.
In addition, drivers should also be aware that the freeway will be narrowed to two lanes in both directions between 59th and 75th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Additional Loop 101 ramp/road closures:
- Both I-17 ramps to westbound Loop 101
- Westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 7th Street and 7th Avenue
- Westbound Loop 101 frontage road closed just west of 75th Avenue
- Westbound frontage road will be closed between 35th and 51st avenues from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday for pavement marking
Meanwhile, drivers in the Scottsdale area won’t be able to use Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, as the road will shut down in both directions at the Loop 101 Pima from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Instead, drivers can use the Loop 101 Pima frontage roads.
Those who are using westbound Loop 202 Santan will not be able to exit at Arizona Avenue this weekend. ADOT says the off-ramp will shut down from 2 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday for bridge work.
