PHOENIX — A Tempe no-kill animal shelter needs temporary foster homes for dogs as the facility undergoes external renovations, a Thursday press release said.

Lost Our Home Pet Rescue, located on Broadway Road and Hardy Drive, is asking for 20 to 25 homes to watch its dogs while “worn-out turf” and “drainage” are fixed in its outdoor yard from June 26 to July 3.

Besides asking for foster heroes, the animal shelter said the community can also help it reach its $6,000 fundraising goal for the renovations.

How the animal shelter renovation is possible

Larry, a former Lost Our Home Pet Rescue client, recently partnered with a local landscaping company that cut the renovation cost in half, the release said.

The animal shelter had cared for his Jack Russell terrier mix, B.J., for 90 days in 2019 while the U.S. Marine Corps vet battled “advanced, high-risk prostate cancer.”
