The wealthiest town in Upstate New York in newly released census data was Forestburgh in Sullivan County.

The town had a median family income of more than $180,000 a year in estimates covering a five-year period from 2020 to 2024. The numbers come from estimates the Census Bureau released in January.

The top 25 wealthiest towns and cities in Upstate New York all had median family incomes of at least $147,000 a year, according to the new data.

After Forestburgh, Pittsford in Monroe County was No. 2 at more than $179,000 a year and Niskayuna in Schenectady County was No. 3 at over $171,000.

One Onondaga County town was in the top 25. Skaneateles had a median family income of more than $157,000 a year, according to the census data.

One city appeared on the list. Saratoga Springs ranked No. 21 with a median family income of over $150,000.

For the purposes of this ranking, Upstate New York includes all counties north of Rockland and Westchester.
