PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A new service at Phoenix Sky Harbor is cutting out the ticket counter wait, letting some travelers check bags in seconds.
Airport officials announced this week that “Early Bag Check” launches on Wednesday, which allows people to check in luggage before arriving at the terminal.
Travelers can check their bags in at the Rental Car Center or East Economy Parking Lot before boarding the Sky Train.
Flyers on Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, or United may check in up to two bags per person at no extra cost. However, special equipment must be checked at the airline ticket counters.
Sky Harbor said the counters will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., including holidays. There will also be a way for travelers to print their boarding passes.
Per usual, standard airline policies require bags to be checked in at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure and no more than four hours before your flight.
More information about the service can be found on the airport’s website.
