SAN ANTONIO — A capital murder investigation led to the arrest of Ronnie Lee Regalado on the city’s West Side.

At 5:17 a.m. on Monday, June 16th, 2025, officers responded to a shooting at N. Pinto Street, where they found a 35-year-old man, identified as the victim, lying outside the home with a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center and pronounced dead at 6:04 a.m.
Police say two witnesses were present at the scene. One witness provided officers with video evidence of the incident, stating he was present during the homicide. The second witness, who is a cousin of both the victim and the alleged shooter, identified the shooter as Ronnie Lee Regalado.
Video footage from an exterior camera captured a verbal dispute between the victim and Regalado, reportedly over property. During the confrontation, the victim can be heard yelling at Regalado to shoot him. The video shows the victim approaching Regalado, who then shoots the victim in the chest at close range. The victim collapsed in the front yard, and Regalado fled the scene in a gray or silver Jeep Cherokee.
The San Antonio Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested Ronnie Regalado on murder charges.
