CHICAGO (WLS) — A section of the outbound Eisenhower Expressway on Chicago’s West Side is closed after a pedestrian was injured in a crash on Tuesday evening, Illinois State Police said.
Interstate 290 is shut down between Kostner and Cicero avenues. That’s near the city’s Garfield Park and Lawndale neighborhoods.

A vehicle hit a pedestrian, and their condition was not immediately known.
Why the person was on the expressway was not immediately clear.
Traffic is being diverted off at Kostner. ISP did not immediately say when lanes might reopen.
