Authorities say the man was dead at the scene, but the woman was flown by helicopter to a hospital.

Authorities had originally said the woman also had gunshot wounds, but Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in an update it was determined at the hospital that the woman had a laceration to her head, but it appears she was not shot. She remains hospitalized, but is expected to survive.

An investigation is underway.
