SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested after he allegedly used Snapchat to meetup with an underage victim and sexually assaulted her.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), on June 25, they responded to a report of an Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child involving 30-year-old Franklin Damien Sanchez.

Investigators say Sanchez had been in contact with the underage victim through Snapchat and used the social media platform to arrange an in-person meeting. The victim left her home to meet up with Sanchez and was taken to multiple locations, eventually being assaulted by Sanchez.

Following the assault, Sanchez continued to reach out to the victim via social media. The victim later confided to a friend about the assault, and the friend encouraged the victim to come forward and tell her parents.

Sanchez was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Online Solicitation of a Minor Under 14. He was booked into Bexar County Jail on a $150,000 bond. Jail records show he was released on Thursday.
