Fire crews responded to a structure fire in Montebello Thursday as strong flames and smoke were coming out of the burning building.
The fire broke out on Whittier Boulevard near Bluff Road at around 7:21 p.m..
Crews from the Montebello Fire Department responded to the scene with mutual aid assistance from those from Monterey Park, Glendale, San Gabriel and San Marino fire department.
The fire appeared to be originating from a building in a residential area with homes and apartment builds nearby.
NewsChopper4 was overhead when smoke from the fire was visible from 10 miles away from the scene.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.
