LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – Michigan City Police is conducting a homicide investigation, after a 20-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound and later died at Franciscan Health Hospital.
The La Porte County Regional Dispatch Center got the 911 call about a person who was shot at a BP gas station at 1302 East Michigan Boulevard, just before 1:30 a.m.
Officers arrived and found the 20-year-old suffering from the gunshot wound, and first responders provided life saving measures to the victim, before he was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
Detectives from the Investigative Division were summoned to the scene and are currently continuing to investigate this incident.
Multiple articles of evidence are collected, and many witnesses have been interviewed, as officers and detectives continue to investigate and search for video surveillance.
