DOCTORS believe that a case of sepsis which left a woman needing a quadruple amputation was caused by her own dog.
Manjit Sangha, 56, finally made it home this week after 32 weeks in hospital.

She endured a long battle with sepsis, suffered six heart attacks and a bout of pneumonia which left her limbless following a quadruple amputation.
Medics think that the sepsis may have been caused by her dog licking a small injury such as a cut or scratch.
Sepsis is a rare but serious medical condition which is often life threatening.
The condition can prove fatal as the body’s immune system starts to attack its own tissues and organs rather than fight disease and infection.
Manjit began feeling unwell after returning from work on Sunday, July 14 last year.
By the following morning she was unconscious, struggling to breathe and had purple lips and ice cold hands and feet.
During the former pharmacy worker’s time in intensive care at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, her heart stopped six times.
Due to the rapid spread of sepsis surgeons had to amputate both her hands and her legs below the knee.
Manjit also had her spleen removed, battled pneumonia and developed gallstones which mean she may require further surgery and more time in hospital.
Her husband Kam Sangha, 60, told the BBC: “You’re thinking ‘how can this happen in less than 24 hours?’
“One minute on a Saturday she’s playing with the dog, Sunday she’s gone to work, Monday night she’s in a coma,” he added.
Kam, a distribution worker at Screwfix, who has not worked for seven months in order to be by his wife’s side, said he could not be more proud of her.
“Every day was like ‘she’s going to go today’ but she proved us wrong every single day with what she’s been through.
“She’s so strong” he said.
As well as working at a pharmacy, Manjit worked weekends with her husband at Screwfix, meaning she often worked seven days a week.

The couple celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in hospital.
Manjit explained that she “didn’t know what was happening”.
“The first month I do not remember anything” she said.
Now they are back home the couple are fundraising for advanced prosthetics including expensive robotic hands.
They have raised more than £27,000 through GoFundMe and fundraising at Screwfix, where the couple both worked.
