SAN ANTONIO — A rideshare driver was injured after police say they agreed to give a suspect a ride in exchange for directions, which led to an attempted carjacking.
Officers were dispatched for a cutting in progress around 1:15 in the morning on Saturday in the 3200 block of Culebra Road.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), a rideshare driver stopped to ask a 19-year-old suspect for directions and the suspect agreed, in exchange for a ride.
The suspect got in, and demanded the vehicle, leading to a struggle. The 45-year-old victim sustained a laceration by an unspecified tool the suspect was carrying, police said.
The suspect fled the location but was detained by police. NCID and CSI both processed the scene. No other information was given.
