Proposals to remove two items from the City of Scottsdale’s capital improvement plan has some city officials concerned about where Scottsdale’s water is going to come from in the future.
The city’s Budget Review Commission took a look during its Jan. 23 meeting at staff’s recommendations to changes to the city’s five-year capital improvement plan, which included eliminating roughly $25 million for a feasibility study for improvements to Bartlett Dam and another roughly $68 million for improvements to the city’s Advanced Water Purification system.
Commissioner Carla (her legal name) asked why the Bartlett Dam feasibility study was removed from the five-year capital improvement plan when the improvements, which are a regional effort, are expected to provide water to an additional 350,000 homes.
