WESTWORTH VILLAGE – Margaret Elen Lingerfelt, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1937, in Waco, TX to Wade and Mildred Watson. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76107. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76107. Margaret later moved to Fort Worth, TX with her parents, who owned and operated the well-known 3W3 Chinchilla Ranch. She carried with her a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for family that would define her life. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1961 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and was a proud member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority during her college years, forming friendships she cherished throughout her life. Margaret dedicated many years of service to the City of Fort Worth Water Department, where she built a respected and lasting career before retiring. She was known for her professionalism, reliability, and kind spirit. Beyond her professional life, Margaret had a deep passion for painting. She was a talented artist whose work earned numerous awards. Her creativity and love of art brought beauty and joy not only to her own life but to all who admired her work. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Lingerfelt; her parents, Wade and Mildred Watson; her brother, William Watson; and her sister, Mary Mize. Margaret is survived by her son, Scott Keesee and his wife, Ellen Keesee, of Fort Worth; her grandchildren, Leah Keesee, Justin Keesee and Samantha Andrews, all of Fort Worth; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly. Margaret will be remembered for her strength, creativity, dedication to family, and the lasting legacy of love she leaves behind.
