PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after a crash in central Phoenix early Saturday morning.
Police say the crash happened east of downtown Phoenix near 18th and Van Buren streets.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers arrived on the scene and found a 25-year-old man who was critically injured. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His identity has not been released.
Detectives say the victim was speeding when he crashed into a car driven by a teen. After the crash, the teen and the passengers ran away, but police later found them at their home.
The teen told police he was driving at the time of the crash. Investigators do not believe impairment was a factor.
