Expect the strongest storms to impact your afternoon between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Sunday Shrimp Forecast
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The hot, humid, and stormy pattern continues on Sunday and will last through most of the week ahead.
Highs in our region will be in the mid-90s, which allows both the opportunity for strong storms to develop and for the heat index to reach close to advisory levels. The National Weather Service will issue a Heat Advisory if the heat index reaches 108 for 2 or more hours. Clouds are expected to help keep advisory levels just below the threshold.
Dangerous lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours can be expected as the thunderstorms develop by 4 p.m. and last through sunset. These storms will be centered mostly over northeast Florida and coastal southeast Georgia.
Overnight lows will range in the mid-to-upper 70s under partly cloudy skies.
Tracking the tropics
Tropical weather in the Gulf will aid in our wet weather as an area of low pressure moves westward across Florida. Conditions are ripe for possible cyclonic development in the Gulf over the next 7 days.
