Most of the Chicago area will see a pleasant Sunday, with sunny skies and seasonable temperatures, but some suburbs could see a bit of rain.

According to the NBC 5 Storm Team, the highest chance of showers and perhaps an embedded thunderstorm or two will be seen in areas south of Interstate 80, including Will and Kankakee counties, and in northwest Indiana.

Severe weather isn’t expected however, and most of the day should be dry, giving residents a pleasant end to the weekend.

High temperatures are expected to rise into the low-to-mid 80s, with slightly cooler readings near Lake Michigan. Dewpoints are also expected to be lower than Saturday, making things less humid Sunday.

Monday should also see dry conditions across the area, but temperatures will again be on the rise, with readings in the mid-to-upper 80s, according to forecast models. Humidity may also tick upward, and that trend is expected to continue into the middle of the week.

Forecast models show a chance of scattered showers on Tuesday, but the bulk of the moisture is expected to arrive Wednesday, along with temperatures around 90 degrees and dewpoints in the mid-70s, providing plenty of humidity and plenty of fuel for any showers and storms that develop.

That chance of thunderstorms could stick around into Thursday, but temperatures are expected to drop into the back-half of the week, with readings only in the upper-70s or in the low-80s by Friday, with lower humidity and more pleasant conditions expected heading into next weekend.
