Three people were injured in a shootout — one fatally — that, officials believe, happened in Levittown on Saturday night.

According to the Middletown Township Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home along Quickset Road in the Quincy Hollow section of Levittown at about 10:33 p.m. on Saturday after a report of an armed individual.

That call, police said, was quickly upgraded to a report of shots fired at that scene.

First responders, police said, found a man suffering from a gunshot wound lying in the ground outside of a home at that scene.

Officers began life saving efforts, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Inside the home, officers discovered a woman suffering from a head wound and a man who had been shot in the torso and leg.

Both victims inside the home were taken to a nearby hospital and, officials said, they are expected to survive their injuries.

Officials said all three of the people involved in this incident knew each other and the two men were both armed and exchanged gunfire through the course of this incident.

However, officials did not provide further identifying information, nor did they detail what may have led to the shooting or say if anyone else may have been involved — though police noted that they didn’t believe there was any ongoing threat to the community following this incident.

Police said a search warrant has been executed at the house and an investigation into this incident is ongoing.
