PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead, and criminal charges could be coming after he was hit and killed by a suspected impaired driver Monday night, police said.
It happened in the area of Interstate 17 and Glenrosa Avenue, which is north of Indian School Road, just before 10 p.m.
According to investigators, 60-year-old David Mills was standing behind his car, which was parked legally on Glenrosa Avenue, when the driver heading east hit him in the back.
The unidentified driver stayed on the scene, and police said he was impaired, so he was processed for DUI.
“Charging decisions regarding this case will be made once the toxicology results are available and the collision reconstruction process is complete,” Phoenix police Sgt. Rob Scherer said in an emailed statement.
