Pedestrian dies after being struck by Houston METRO bus

A pedestrian died Sunday morning after being hit by a Houton METRO bus in downtown Houston.

The situation unfolded at around 6:35 a.m. near the intersection of Travis Street and Prairie Street.

When first responders arrived at the scene, the pedestrian was down on the roadway near a bus stop past the intersection. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Houston Police Department officials confirmed the time of the incident.
