The San Antonio Spurs may have found a talented defender during the 2025 NBA Summer League.

The San Antonio Spurs undoubtedly have a bright future ahead of them with multiple young players with sky-high potential.

A good way to test the potential of such players in the NBA Summer League. Speaking of which, the Spurs registered a dominant 111-70 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Oftentimes, the most popular players in the NBA are the top-notch scorers on the court. While it takes a lot of hard work to be recognized as an elite scorer, it doesn’t mean that fans should overlook the art of defense.

Well, Spurs fans did not make that mistake during their game vs the 76ers as they praised 19-year-old Carter Bryant.

“Carter Bryant being a complete menace on defense,” one fan wrote. While another added: “Bro Carter Bryant is a demon.”

“We are seeing ELITE defensive play by Carter Bryant,” a third fan added.

“Carter Bryant is everywhere,” a fourth fan announced.

“Carter Bryant is exactly what San Antonio needs on the wing,” one fan believes.

For context, Bryant put up 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists against the 76ers, but he excelled on the defensive end of the floor.

After all, the 19-year-old had 3 blocks and 1 steal while being a +17 in just 19 minutes of playing time.

Kendrick Perkins compares Carter Bryant to a New York Knicks star

Right now, the Spurs already have multiple stars who can take care of things on the offensive end of the floor. Evidently, Bryant has a wide-open path to becoming the defensive leader of the team.

It’s easier said than done, but NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins has high hopes for Bryant. In fact, Perkins went as far as comparing him to New York Knicks star OG Anunoby.

“Carter Bryant has a lot of OG Anunoby in him!” Perkins tweeted on X.

Anunoby is one of the most versatile players in the league right now, and he remains a pivotal part of the Knicks’ defense.

In simple terms, being compared to a player of his work ethic and skill is no small deal for the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
