KERRVILLE, Texas — A San Antonio-based crochet company is calling on fellow yarn enthusiasts to help create and send handmade crochet “stuffies” to children and families affected by the Hill Country flooding.
Twin Stitches announced via Instagram they are starting “A Stitch of Kindness” as a way to remind flood survivors that they’re not alone and send a “small hug in yarn form,” the post says.
Plushies will also be going to the Kerrville Salvation Army and local churches and shelters housing displaced families. The company says they will deliver the plushies to Kerrville on July 26. All donations must be received by July 23.
Crochet artists wanting to get involved can send a direct message to the company via their Instagram @twinstitchesco. The public is encouraged to share the post with other artists, groups and/or friends who might want to help.
