A juvenile died after being transported to the hospital following being struck and pinned under a car at around 2 p.m. on Sunday near the 2000 blook of Tango Loop in Chula Vista, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
The juvenile was riding a stand-up electric scooter, and bystanders used a rolling hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle and free the juvenile, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
The Chula Vista Police and Fire Department arrived at the scene to render aid, and the juvenile was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The name of the juvenile is being withheld pending notification to family members.
The Chula Vista Police Department is investigating the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision, and there is no indication any other vehicles were involved, the police department said.
