PHOENIX — Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said on X on Saturday that an “aggravated assault” and “vandalism” took place at one of Phoenix’s mosques.

According to Mayor Gallego, the incident happened early on March 7, and she has been in contact with the Phoenix police chief.

“Hate has no place in our city,” she said. “The person who did this will be brought to justice.”
