PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s been a beautiful Saturday in the Valley, with highs reaching 82 degrees so far today. Tonight will stay mild, with lows dipping into the upper 50s, setting up for an even warmer Sunday.
Highs tomorrow are expected to climb to around 89 degrees — well above the normal high of 76 degrees — though still short of the record of 92 degrees set in 1989. It may get a little breezy at times on Sunday with gusts of around 15 mph possible.
Our next First Alert Day arrives on Monday due to the potential for scattered rain. The Monday morning commute should stay dry, but clouds will increase through the day. Rain chances rise to 30% Monday afternoon and evening, then increase to 50% late Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday.
Rainfall totals will generally be light, around 0.05″ to 0.10″, though up to 0.25″ is possible in the higher terrain east of Phoenix. A slight chance of isolated thunderstorms and small hail will also be possible, mainly in those higher elevations. Some spots across the Valley may not see measurable rainfall at all.
With more cloud cover on Monday, temperatures will cool into the upper 70s. The rain should wrap up in the Valley before the Tuesday morning commute, though we’ll continue to monitor the timing and keep you updated.
By Tuesday afternoon, skies turn mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Temperatures then rebound quickly, reaching the mid-80s by Wednesday and climbing into the low to mid-90s by the end of the week.
For the high country, dry weather will dominate through the weekend. Areas along and south of I-40 could see scattered showers Monday evening into Tuesday before drier, milder conditions return for the rest of the week.
Meanwhile, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. tonight for northwest Arizona, including areas like Kingman. Wind gusts could reach up to 45 mph, so travelers in that region should use extra caution.
