‘Breaking Bad’ actors reunite at Old Town store

They are best known for playing “Badger,” “Skinny Pete” and “Combo”

They played some sketchy characters in Vince Gilligan’s legendary series “Breaking Bad,” but when Matt Jones, Charles Baker and Rodney Rush came to Old Town Saturday, they were treated like royalty.They reunited at the Breaking Bad Store ABQ in Old Town, where people were lined up down the block to get free photos of them that they autographed, and then just to mingle.You could say that “Breaking Bad” put Albuquerque on the map, though not always in the best light. But its superb writing, acting and cinematography showed that even the most sordid storylines could draw people in and have them love characters they’d steer clear of in real life.For these actors, there are only fond memories of the show and where it was made.”I can’t believe people still love the show as much as they do,” said Jones, who played Badger. “And that’s so cool. Albuquerque’s a wild town, and it’s always Albuquerque. It’s fun to be back.” Rush, who played Combo, said he shares lot of “Breaking Bad” memories with Jones and Baker.”Personal stories and different stuff that we have from filming and just hanging out. It’s just that people watch the show, like, earlier today. And then they come in and that was three lifetimes ago for me. I’ve had multiple marriages, kids, like a lot has happened since then,” Rush said. “I think one of my favorite aspects of being on ‘Breaking Bad’ was the art,” said Baker, who played Skinny Pete. “So much art was inspired by this. And I don’t know of any other shows that have that kind of artistic following that this show has displayed.”
