Starting September 22, travelers flying with American Airlines from Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) will have a new way to reach connecting flights at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL): a direct, ticketed motorcoach ride operated by Landline.
The new service will run three times a day in each direction, offering a convenient alternative to driving or flying between the two airports. According to American Airlines, departures from Trenton are scheduled for 6:45 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. Buses return from PHL at 8:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 6:40 p.m. The ride takes approximately 50 minutes.
The motorcoaches feature leather seats, power outlets, Wi-Fi, and onboard entertainment. Bags are checked at the starting airport and transferred to the final destination automatically — no extra handling needed.
“We’re excited to bring this new level of regional connectivity to Trenton,” said Lakshman Amaranayaka, American Airlines Vice President of PHL Operations. “Travelers in Central Jersey will now have easier access to our global network through PHL.”
Passengers using the Landline service check in and clear TSA security at Trenton before boarding the bus to PHL, where they go straight to their connecting gate. For return trips, the motorcoach picks up travelers at a designated gate at PHL and brings them back to Trenton, where they collect checked luggage.
The service is booked the same way as any American flight. It appears as a leg of the itinerary — listed as “Operated by The Landline Company” — and travelers earn AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points.
American already offers Landline connections between PHL and four other airports: Allentown/Bethlehem (PA), Atlantic City (NJ), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (PA), and Wilmington (DE). Trenton is the fifth.
“This kind of connection makes air travel more accessible for more people,” said Atif Saeed, CEO of Philadelphia International Airport. “It’s a practical and comfortable option for getting to PHL.”
