Renovated Central Patrol Station set to reopen in Houston’s East End

  • July 14, 2025

Houston Police Department – HPD

A major renovation project at Houston’s Central Patrol Station is now complete, bringing new upgrades to one of the city’s historic police buildings.

City leaders are set to gather Monday at 8:30 a.m. to mark the completion of renovations at the Central Patrol Station in Houston’s East End. Mayor John Whitmire and Police Chief J. Noe Diaz Jr. will celebrate the updated facility at 1217 Morin Street, wrapping up a multi-year project to modernize the historic building.

The historic building, more than 100 years old, now houses both the Houston Police Department’s Central Patrol Station and Special Operations division. The project also includes a new shared parking garage to be used by both HPD and the Houston Public Works Permitting Center, improving accessibility and operational efficiency for city departments.
