PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Inside the iconic Wrigley Mansion, which sits above the stunning Phoenix skyline, is a world-class chef who’s turning meals into unforgettable experiences for guests.
Long before he became one of America’s most celebrated French chefs, Christopher Gross was a 14-year-old kid in Phoenix with a single goal: buy a motorcycle.
A part-time job in a local restaurant was supposed to be a means to an end. Instead, it sent him on a journey from Arizona to London, Paris, and Normandy — and eventually to the top of the culinary world.
Today, Chef Christopher is a James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef and he took home the Antonin Carême Medal in 2025. His list of awards is lengthy and prestigious.

Chef Christopher has cooked for three U.S. Presidents and shared kitchens with culinary greats like Jacques Pépin, Julia Child, and Martha Stewart. Mentorship and philanthropy is also important to chef, as he helped found the Arizona chapter of American Institute of Wine and Food and to launch the “Flavors of Phoenix” fundraiser benefitting the American Liver Foundation.
In 2018, Gross moved his operations to one of the Valley’s most historic addresses: the Wrigley Mansion. After revitalizing Geordie’s Restaurant and Lounge, he debuted Christopher’s at Wrigley Mansion in 2021 — a sleek, modernist tasting-menu restaurant perched high above the city lights known as one of the most acclaimed restaurants in Phoenix and the United States.
At Christopher’s, they say every dish tells a story, every moment is magical, and every guest leaves feeling inspired and satisfied.
